Year 6 Informal Concert

With music being hit so hard by the pandemic precautions any live music is to be treasured. The rearranged Elstree Year 6 Informal concert was like a rare gem amongst all our restrictions.  Furthermore it lifted the spirits of all who attended or listened from afar.

The Programme

The variety of instruments offered was noticeable – violin, cello, double bass, clarinet, treble recorder, piano and voice.  We enjoyed every single item on the programme. Some of the performers were giving their forthcoming exam pieces an airing, some were experienced performers, some are aspiring music scholars and some were at the beginning of their musical studies. All performed confidently and with aplomb and were  warmly applauded by the audience.

Music at Elstree

Music is an important element of Elstree life, both within the curriculum and outside it. From singing in the Choir and musicians playing regularly in Church, to performing in plays, concerts and rehearsing in musical ensembles, the pupils’ benefit from an environment where music is cherished and nurtured.
