Year 6 Big Weekend

Year 6 enjoyed the best of the September sunshine and lots of fun Camp-craft activities this weekend.

Having had pizzas made in the outdoor pizza oven, making catapults and firing sweets at targets was fun on the Saturday evening (thank you Mr. Attwood) before traditional marshmallow toasting over a campfire and hot chocolate.  The boys were also shown a range of knots and demonstrated their knowledge to make some very successful contraptions over both days.

Sunday morning fun continued with a lie-in and large fry-up, before the construction of ballistas and ball launchers from a wide range of wood, rope and elastic.  After some great teamwork and design ideas, the final shoot-off happened Scrapheap Challenge style.  In the afternoon, the boys did some baking with Mr & Mrs Attwood before drilling and preparing conkers for the week ahead.
