Year 6 Big Weekend

Thirty Year 6 boys enjoyed an action packed weekend.  The Saturday evening started with a game of ‘Stormers’, a game where one team at a time try to evade capture  to reach the opponent’s base.

After some careful signalling and bases built with natural defences, the pupils enjoyed toasting marshmallows and hot chocolate around the campfire. Thank you Mr Attwood.  Lots of singing and chanting ensued, before a traditional ‘Kum Ba Yah’ finish to the campfire.  With many tired heads, the boarding house fell silent at just after 9pm!

After a short lie-in on Sunday, the boys had a full English breakfast to provide them with the  energy required for the morning’s activities. These included learning pioneering, and using the sheer and square lashings to construct the tallest flag pole, complete with flying flag. Some great designs and teamwork, with some expert help from staff on hand enabled the task to be expertly complete!
