Woolhampton School Science Morning at Elstree

A group of Year 4 and 5 pupils from Woolhampton Primary School took part in a Science morning in the Elstree Science lab. It was the first time that any of the pupils had experienced working in a Science lab and their first introduction to Bunsen burners.

They started the morning by preparing solutions of copper sulphate to produce crystals. They learnt how to use scientific apparatus and will be able to use microscopes to look at the crystals they have made.  They finished their morning by watching a Hydrogen powered Pringle rocket take off and by experimenting with the Van de Graaff generator.

Six boys from 7ADL helped to run the morning and their proactive assistance was very much appreciated.
