The Greyhound Run (without the dogs)

Two of Elstree’s cross cross-country teams participated in The Oratory’s annual Greyhound Run this week.

Our Year 6 (Juniors) was first to race, with Tommy being the first Elstree pupil to complete the course. He secured a very commendable 9th position out of around 75 runners.

Closely behind him in 16th place was Kitt, which was his best performance to date.

Stanley came a very comfortable 19th, with Edward 22nd, Alex 28th and Johnson 31st. This was a brilliant team performance.

More excitement was yet to come in the Senior Race with our Year 7. Harry managed an outstanding 4th place, with Toby just behind in 5th.  The rest of the team weren’t far behind, with Harry coming in 22nd, Jack 23rd, Billy 25th and Johnson 28th. This was yet another great team effort.

Due to the poor weather conditions, the prize presentation was unfortunately cancelled, so we will have to wait to see if we have won a team medal.

The boys were delightful company and ran their socks off in very muddy conditions. Huge thanks to Gapper Ellie for encouraging our runners, who also proved to be a first-class carrier of tracksuits and water bottles.
