Pre-Prep Woodland Day

Elstree Reception pupils were so excited when they brought a guest to school to spend the day in the woods.  Mummies, daddies and a grandpa were given a tour of the woods which Reception visit every week.  They hunted for mini beasts, finding lots of woodlice, spiders and even two frogs hiding underneath logs in the fire circle.

After some delicious cake we made our way over to plantation for some very competitive den building.  We had bunting, candles, camo tarpaulin and even pirate flags to make the dens look good enough to spend the night in!

After lunch in the dens we played a few rounds of parents vs children hide and seek – the children won.   We then made our way back to school through our amazing grounds, braving the trip trap bridge – luckily the troll didn’t get us.

The children adored having their family at school with them.  India said ‘I loved the woodland day because Daddy came and played with me’.  Zac’s favourite thing was the den building.

A huge thank you to the parents for coming in and for getting so involved with all the activities.
