Performing Arts Soiree

What a spectacular evening we all enjoyed in the Long Room for the Performing Arts Soiree last night.  It was a wonderful opportunity for the Year 8 boys who will be taking either a music or drama scholarship to practise their performances in the atmospheric surroundings of the Long Room.  We were treated to some outstanding musical performances on the  piano, violin and bassoon as well as some assured and confident vocal performances.  The dramatic monologues took the audience through a whole range of emotions from Arthur Davies’s hilarious rendition of ‘Detention’ to Jack Kidson’s heartfelt delivery of ‘Sammy’s Consent’.  It was a special and memorable evening from a talented bunch of Year 8 boys.
