Home Farm – Summer Concert 2016

The children in Year One got the ‘show on the road’ with the ‘Penguin Song’, a great marching warm up. They followed with the ‘Nursery Rhyme Rap’, their infectious drum playing soon had our toes tapping.

Nursery delighted us with the ‘Spider Song’ and ‘The Music Man’ with some very animated, enthusiastic performances with John Wyatt leading all the way!

The Reception class made us all wriggle with their ‘Creepy Crawlies’ number. Nathaniel put everything into it, never letting up. Their boundless energy never waning as they went on to sing ‘Let’s Have A Party’!

Then for something more melancholy. The choir have all been working so hard in their lunchtime break to give a lovely performance of ‘Circle of Life’.

As well as hearing some budding pianists and violinists playing solo pieces, we heard Year 1’s delicate plucking of the violin strings in accompaniment with Mrs Overend and the Year 2’s beautifully played descant recorders with Miss Collins on piano.

It may not have been successful at the Eurovision Contest this year but Year 2 made ‘You Are Not Alone’ a winner.

Next it was the audience’s turn to participate in true ‘Collins’ style with ‘Lean Forwards, Lean Backwards’. It had us all in a quandary and some of us out of breath. There was some fantastic acting from the year 2 children in ‘The Spooky Song’ which sent shivers down our spines.

Finally, rounding off the show was a pacy ‘Front, Bottom and Top’, a rousing finale for everybody to sing. Well done Home Farm, it was a great, exhilarating hour of fun! Thankyou.
