On Saturday we were delighted to welcome 60 Grandparents to Elstree for the morning. It was lovely that so many of them joined us for the weekly service at St Peter’s Woolhampton, which was full to the rafters. This was followed by coffee and refreshments on the Terrace. The children then took them on their own individual tours of the school, and showed them the places that are particularly special to them. There were art exhibitions in the Long Room and the Front Hall and to finish off the morning, there was a vocal concert in the Long Room, featuring the 3 school choirs. The chapel choir sang ‘On Eagle’s Wings’ and ‘Let it Go’. The Year 8 Scholars then showed that they are a talented musical bunch as they sang ‘We are the World’ with wonderful close harmonies. Next up was the Year 5 and 6 choir with their rendition of ‘Rebel Soldier’ and ’ I Believe I Can Fly’. To finish off, the Year 4 choir performed several jazzy Jamaican themed songs – toe tapping stuff indeed! It was a special morning and lovely to meet so many Grandparents.
