Swimming
Swimming at Elstree is going from strength to strength. The swimming season lasts for the duration of the Summer Term and consists of several elements.
- Swimming matches against other schools. There are usually four or five fixtures in the season. Swim squad practice for team members takes place one evening a week after school for Years 4-8.
- Swimming Finals on Sport’s Day. This is an exciting competition between the top swimmers in the school. Times are taken throughout the term in PE, games and swim squad sessions and the boys with the fastest recorded times are invited to compete in a final swim-off for trophies and medals.
- House Swimming Gala. There are many events covering all age groups which give everyone in the school the chance to score points for their house. Most, if not all members of the house, regardless of level, will be asked to compete in at least one event to make this one of the most exciting and evenly-matched sporting house competitions of the year.
- Swimming lessons in PE and Games. All pupils have a chance to improve their stroke technique and improve their stroke times.
