Judo

Judo is big at Elstree and under the training of the formidable Martin Small that is no surprise. Last year saw one of our pupils reaching brown belt status and several boys won gold medals at the annual IAPS Judo Championships at High Wycombe.

Training sessions are every Monday from 6.00-6.45pm for juniors and 6.45-7.30pm for seniors; the emphasis is on fun, skills, technique and fitness plus preparation for matches. Martin has an infectious mixture of enthusiasm, firm-handedness and good humour.  He gets to know the children well and parents often watch the sessions in the gym from the spectators’ gallery.
