DT Scholarship success to The Oratory

Following a series of successes, we now congratulate Alex for being awarded a Design Technology Scholarship to The Oratory.

Alex’s Design Technology presentation included a pinball machine, bendy man lamp, and a James Bond stereo speaker car.

Alex said: “I often visit museums to get inspiration for my DT projects and because I have an immense passion for old cars. I love old cars so much because of their beauty and their fascinating engineering aspects.”

His interest in design has taken Year 8 Alex to Ashmolean, and the British Motor and Victoria & Albert museums. At home, Alex doesn’t stop designing either. Besides being a lover of Lego, he’s designed a Biggles-inspired wooden plane and a gravity racer.

With talent like this, Elstree may be boasting the next Thomas Heatherwick! You heard it here first.
