Chapel Choir sing at Padworth Church
The last Chapel Choir performance this year was I think the best. It was the perfect setting just 10 minutes away from Elstree (which meant that boys who had attended an all-day performance of the Life of Christ, or competed to reach the National Athletics finals, or been driven around a race track at 100 miles earlier in the day could still perform- how do they fit it all in?!). The boys sang their hearts out, watched with concentration and truly impressed the appreciative audience with the high standard of their performance.
We persuaded some of the Year 8s to sing a swan-song solo and their stunning renditions prove that a boy’s treble voice is at its strongest at this age. This was a new venue for the choir and the intimate surroundings of Padworth Church and its beautiful acoustic suited the occasion admirably.
Afterwards following a photo session, we were able to enjoy socialising over refreshments in the rose-filled churchyard- what a wonderful way to end to what has been a memorable choral year and well done boys for giving of your best!
