Buttercup the Cow

On Thursday 22nd January, Jan came to visit Year One again with Buttercup the cow. Buttercup is a life sized cow, but not a real one. Jan said if she couldn’t get a pig into her car she definitely didn’t think she would fit a real cow! Jan told us lots of information about cows. She explained that cows need to have a calf before they start producing milk. She told us that cows are milked twice a day and then asked the children if they would like to try to milk a cow. Everyone’s hands shot up and, as Buttercup is a special cow that can be milked, everyone had a turn, all the teachers included!! Many thanks to Jan Murray the Education Officer from Newbury Showground for all her time.
