Bright Young Sparks’ Market Day

Roll up, roll up!  Elstree School’s young entrepreneurs demonstrated their commercial flair at the Bright Young Sparks’ Market Day on Wednesday 18th November.  The Long Room was transformed into a marketplace where a group of boys charmed customers with their witty and persuasive sales banter.  Money flowed as the boys negotiated a fair price for their highly original and beautifully presented products.

Amongst the items for sale were individually designed t-shirts and tops, soaps in the shape of lego bricks and characters, home-made apple juice and locally sourced organic eggs, smoothies, puzzles, Christmas cards, and re-cycled items. These boys had taken part in a new course recently introduced to Elstree School called Bright Young Sparks, where they picked up top tips from well-known entrepreneurs, and developed their own business skills through games and activities.

At Bright Young Sparks, we’re on a mission. To instil an entrepreneurial mind-set from a young age and equip children with invaluable business skills for life.  Our dynamic workshops have been designed to provide a solid introduction to business and entrepreneurship through fun and engaging techniques.

This programme is open to children in Years 5, 6 and 7 and is a one-off course of workshops which are delivered over one term. If you would like to enrol your child on next term’s course, please email jmorris@elstreeschool.org.uk.
