After a lovely half-term, it’s been straight back into action at Elstree for the second half of term. We had lots of matches against Ludgrove yesterday which the boys all really enjoyed and then at 6pm the weekend programme for the full Boarders kicked in!
On Saturday evening the boarders were treated to a ‘Safari Supper’ where various member of staff living on-site each hosted a course of supper. We split into two groups of 6 boys and one group went to the Owens while the other six went to the Williams for spring rolls and a Chinese salad followed by several rounds of the cereal box game! Main courses were hosted by the Attwoods and the Baxters. The boys enjoyed chicken breasts stuffed with goats cheese and wrapped in Palma ham, dauphinois potatoes and vegetables. The boys were impeccably well behaved and really impressed their hosts with their good manners and sense of fun! For pudding it was back to our flat for ice-cream, brownies and rockie road followed by the “Who am I?” game and charades, before collapsing into bed with big smiles on our faces!
Sunday was rather grey but fortunately the rain stayed away. After the usual full English breakfast, Mr Bell and Mr Brown scooped all the boys up and drove them to Swinley Forest where they spent the day on mountain bikes riding the beautiful trails and enjoying the fresh air and glorious countryside. On the way home, they stopped for hot chocolate and there was an opportunity for the boys to spend their pocket money which was very popular! After supper, the boys wrote some thank you letters to their Saturday supper hosts before heading up to bed.
