Boarders’ Christmas Carols

The last night of the Autumn term always treats the boarders well. The boys gathered in the front hall in their pjs and dressing gowns for a collection of carols, readings and a rap(!).  We were entertained suitably by Hugo Barnes singing the angel’s part in ‘While the Shepherds Watched their Flocks by Night’ and Mr Williams playing the rap man.  Surprisingly natural… Some boys in each year group gave some readings, the Gappers told ‘Twas the Night before Christmas and Mrs Keane performed The Three Trees. Afterwards we moved on to mulled wine, elderflower and mince pies and then met Father Christmas himself for the Secret Santa.  He reminded us of a maths teacher here – must be a coincidence! To finish the evening off, we sat in front of the fire to watch the Snowman and the Snowdog. ‘Twas calm and brilliant; a fitting end to a busy term!
