Bletchley Park Trip

On Tuesday this week, 7JCM had the privilege of going to Bletchley Park to learn about codebreaking during World War II.   We visited the various huts where the codebreaking happened and enemy messages were intercepted.   We saw the Bombe machine which was used to speed up the deciphering process as well as the enigma machines themselves.

A lovely lady called Dot gave us a guided tour around the estate which included going into Commander Denniston’s office where he would have selected his codebreakers usually from Oxford and Cambridge Universities.  Our trip concluded with a codebreaking workshop from Tish and we ended things by seeing an enigma machine in action.
