Annual House Cross Country Competition

We had a beautiful, crisp winter’s day for our annual House Cross-Country competition. Every pupil competed and every pupil gained points for their house – this is what makes it a very special whole-school occasion. Cross-country running may not be everyone’s cup of tea but pupils are encouraged to give of their best and we were certainly not short of some outstanding runs, close-to-record times and runners whose efforts could only be described as gutsy and gritty.

Before the races each house gathered together, with their heads of houses, in order to rally the troops, build up team spirit and stir the soul. As a result, all runners, whatever their calibre, ran with pride and honour.

The Juniors was won by Luca Hargreave (West), the Intermediates by Algy Bullen (North) and the Seniors by Toby Jones (North).

The overall winning house will be announced in Monday’s assembly so it will have to remain a secret until then!
