An evening of Performing Arts

The Elstree Jazz Band opened the Performing Arts Soiree with ‘Tuxedo Junction’, a number one hit for Glenn Miller and his orchestra in 1940.  Our Year 7 and 8 music and drama scholars then took to the stage in the airy space of the Long Room, where guests could relax with a glass of wine.

The enchanting surroundings made the perfect setting for an intimate night of high quality music and drama. It was also a great opportunity for those preparing for Senior School award auditions to practice.

Every pupil confidently engaged the audience with either a music recital or monologue. Outstanding performances were given on the piano, violin, and clarinet, while drama scholars delivered a variety of monologues with clarity and conviction.

This was an excellent start to the Lent Term concerts, and one that everyone very much enjoyed
