Head of Geography

This is an exciting opportunity for a talented, well-qualified and inspiring person to lead the Geography Department, reporting to the Deputy Head Academic. The Geography Department is thriving, with large numbers of pupils enjoying the subject and in particular having the ability to utilise the extensive grounds at Elstree.  Elstree is a highly successful co-educational boarding and day school with well-motivated and enthusiastic pupils, and a friendly, welcoming Common Room.  It is an exciting place to work. 

We invite applications from existing Heads of Geography or experienced teachers who are looking for a new challenge to lead our department.  We are seeking someone with a positive ‘can-do’ attitude who wishes to share their passion for Geography with enthusiastic, well-motivated pupils. Applicants must be willing to immerse themselves in all aspects of school life. The ability and willingness to become involved in the sporting, extra-curricular and pastoral life of this busy day and boarding school will be an advantage.

Director of Music

Elstree’s next Director of Music will foster a culture of participation in music and will promote a love of music for everyone across the whole school.   Building on the excellent reputation of the Department, you will be responsible for the strategic and operational running of the Music Department whilst leading a team of teachers and visiting music staff to deliver a high-quality curriculum and first class co-curricular musical programme.

We welcome applications from experienced Music teachers who are looking for a new challenge to join our thriving school.  You will join a committed, hardworking and friendly department who work closely together to achieve the best possible outcomes for our pupils.  You must also be willing to immerse yourself in the extra-curricular and pastoral life of this busy co-educational school.

Teaching Assistant (April – July 2024)

At Elstree, our Teaching Assistants have a genuine sense of achievement and fulfilment knowing that they have a positive impact on the children that they support.  Based within our Early Years  department, you will work alongside the class teacher, assisting the children with their work and supporting with pupil behaviour while establishing good relationships with pupils, acting as a role model and responding to individual needs. Our Teaching Assistants also undertake an additional responsibility by running our after school ‘Ducklings’ club with an extended day until 6pm on at least one evening per week.

Closing date: 9am, 25th March.
