Year 2 Celebration, Crossing The Bridge

Taking on the role of the grandchildren of the Three Billy Goats Gruff, Year 2 imagined what life would be like over the bridge. They were very comfortable on their side of the river, however, it was getting a little small and slightly too contained for the rapidly growing kids.  They were extremely apprehensive at the thought of having to face the troll but they did want to venture further afield.  Finally, after carefully scouting for the troll and finding him to be none-existent, they decided to be brave, stick together and make the move to the other side of the field.

The parallels with moving from the safe and familiar environment of Home Farm to Elstree were obvious. Like the herd of kids, the children are ready and eager to explore new opportunities.

The performance included songs and the children gave scrolls to their parents with some of their memories of life at Home Farm. As the chorus in their final song, ‘Reach’, says ‘Follow your heart’s desire, reach for the stars, and when that rainbow’s shining over you, that’s when your dreams will all come true.’

We are so proud of all that they have achieved in their time with us, they have a fantastic group of friends to support them and I have no doubt that they will continue to thrive. All of the staff at Home Farm hope that their dreams do, indeed, come true.
