Woodley Choral Festival

Singing is at the heart of music-making and three Elstree choirs entered the annual Woodley Choral Festival – the equivalent of a football tournament, with over a thousand children singing over the course of the weekend in the Emmbrook School, Wokingham. The competition was fierce and every school choir rose to the occasion performing their very best.
The Elstree choirs sang beautifully producing the most lovely tone which bowled over both the audience and the adjudicator, and  were delighted to come away with the trophy for both  the Lower Junior Choir and Young People’s Class, and a Silver medal for the Upper Junior Class.
The adjudicator commented that the Year 4 boys were clearly a very talented bunch, with a “strong well-projected sound”, complimented the Year 5 and 6 Choir on their crystal-clear diction and committed approach, and praised the Chapel Choir for their lovely legato line and singing of Hebrew in Al shlosha, and their “excellent display of impressive choral technique” in Cantate Domino.
Well done boys!
