Ski Trip 2018

Year 2: La Plagne!  The Elstree skiing party is now in full swing.  We returned for some more snow (and more and more!), amazing food, chairlift banter, and costume antics in the French resort of La Plagne, which is linked to Les Arcs.  We threw on our stash hoodies and crested sunglasses and spent a week at a smart new hotel at 1250m, just above Montalbert.  It’s a ski-to-door hotel equipped with indoor pool, en-suite rooms and several buffets at each meal. It’s safe to say we all wanted three stomachs.

Each morning the 24 boys split into three 3-hour ski school groups, accompanied by the Elstree teachers;  in the afternoons we formed groups to free ski with the staff across the resort.  La Plagne is covered with Fun Slopes, Boarder Crosses, Slaloms and hidden half pipe runs.   In the evenings we joined the ESF instructors again for Snake Glisse – a snake-train of interconnected bumboards which flicks off riders on its way down the Blues on the last run of the day.   We also hit the bowling alley at Belle Plagne and each enjoyed massive pizzas.  The whole holiday worked a dream; a package to repeat next year!  Alors, nous allons!
