Scrabble Club

One of the newest clubs to thrive at Elstree is the wonderful Scrabble Club. Originally formed in summer 2017 with a few boys playing during assorted rest periods. Nowadays, it is more structured.

The club meets on a Thursday rest in Mr Brown’s Bio/science lab. The club can only have 14 people in it, so there has been a struggle to fit everyone in. We play with the most up-to-date equipment: timers, board rotators, latest scrabble dictionaries, to name a few. Every game that is played has its own dictionary and timer.

Scrabble is a brilliant game because no matter what level you are, as long as you are enthusiastic, you can always get better. For me personally, Scrabble is the game where things can change the quickest. As President, I enjoy watching people improve week on week with more and more people learning the game and getting spell-outs. So I encourage you to get playing with family and friends because Scrabble is a great game.
