Reception Trip to Englefield Garden Centre

Reception Children had a very exciting and enjoyable trip out to the garden centre in Englefield. We had a look around at all the different plant and talked about what we could see and smell. Some of the plants and herbs had interesting smells. We had a smell and thought about different words to describe them. We thought the mint smelt like our Daddy’s Chocolates and remembered that thyme smelt like the carrots we have at school for lunch.

We looked for some of the plants in our story, ‘Oliver’s Vegetables’, and then found some seeds we wanted to use in our vegetable patch at school. We all had a great time and were able to pay for the seeds ourselves.
