Pangbourne College Brass Day

An Elstree School boy, Peter was one of around 10 young musicians who joined the Pangbourne and District Silver Brass Band to perform a variety of pieces including Andy Norman’s ‘Heroes’.   In the morning, as a Combined Brass Ensemble they played ‘Helicopters Landing’, a short Fanfare composed by Head of Instrumental Studies, Mr Jerry Clack, when five helicopters descended on Pangbourne College as part of 3 Commando Brigade Air Squadron Royal Marines’s 35th Falklands Anniversary Reunion.  It was quite a spectacle!

At the Brass Masterclass, Peter learned some good tips from guest Trombone Soloist and London session player, Tim Smart, who is one of the UK’s most versatile trombone players. Tim is currently touring with the iconic British band, The Specials, and is a very experienced performer and educator. It was a great day.
