London Schools Football Tournament

The long awaited day finally arrived for Year 2 and all of the practice that the children had been doing in their PE lessons came to fruition.  The children were so proud to be wearing the Elstree football strip and looked very smart. We were joined by teams from Knightsbridge, Hawkesdown and Merlin Schools for lunch and then headed off towards the pitches.

It was a fast-paced tournament with every team playing six matches in quick succession – there was barely time for a quick gulp of water before it was onto the next match.  There were many highlights for the Home Farm teams with plenty of goal scoring, successful tackling and some great goalkeeping.

The whole afternoon was a great success. There were no scores kept of the matches; the aim was for all of the children to have fun and enjoy themselves, which they certainly did.
