Early Years
Boy with ladybird

Nursery and Reception classes follow the Foundation Stage curriculum, learning through play and practical activities.

The Foundation Stage curriculum is organised into six areas of learning:

  • Personal, Social and Emotional Development
  • Communication, Language and Literacy
  • Problem Solving, Reasoning and Numeracy
  • Knowledge and Understanding of the World
  • Physical Development
  • Creative Development

At this stage of learning, children are developing the crucial knowledge and understanding of English language skills. This will underpin everything they do during their school life and beyond.

We share and enjoy a wide range of rhymes, music, songs, poetry, stories and non-fiction books as part of learning how to communicate, speak and listen.

Flexible sessions, including lunch if required, are offered to children in the Nursery on days to suit both children and parents.
