All pupils belong to a small tutor group and follow a course in Personal, Social and Health Education. This is a carefully designed programme that relates to pupils’ age groups and is an important part of the pastoral programme, the aim of which is to develop pupils’ self-esteem and their belief in their ability to succeed.
PSHE helps to give children the knowledge, skills and understanding they need to lead confident, healthy and independent lives. It aims to help them understand how they are developing personally and socially, tackling many of the moral, social and cultural issues that are part of growing up.
This provision also includes essential life skills, including presentation skllls, voice projection, interviewing and critical thinking - all invaluable for entry to senior school.
