 Elstree puts great emphasis on providing activities and opportunities for the boarders in their free time. During the week, we provide a full programme of clubs for the boarders, which take place every evening after supper. These have shown the versatility of the staff and have included Cards, Magic, Spanish, Indoor Football, Squash, Model Railways and Modelling.
Saturday nights have become a feature of boarding life at Elstree in which parents often have the opportunity to participate. These have consisted of Quiz nights, Games nights, Indoor Olympics, Water Olympics, Hot Chocolate Nights, Talent Nights, Tasty Treat nights, Barn Dances, Socials with other schools and only very occasionally a video!
Sunday afternoons are equally varied, with the boys being given the opportunity of trying something unusual whether it’s riding the rapids of the Basingstoke Aquadrome, visiting the Newbury Show, ten-pin bowling, ice skating or Paintballing on Bucklebury Common. Many boys simply enjoy occupying themselves by making camps in our parkland or by playing with their friends within the grounds.
