Science

Boy in science lessonAt Elstree, we immerse pupils in the scientific world around them, so that they come to understand the nature of scientific enquiry, and develop a basic scientific literacy.

Pupils gain a broad knowledge across the three disciplines – Physics, Chemistry and Biology - through field-based work, demonstration, and participation in experiments, learning basic lab procedures and understanding of health and safety issues.

We have regular science events in our calendar, including a "Science Night" which involves a sleep-over at the Science Museum in London, and an annual Science Day where all of the boys are involved in practical (and fun!) science experiments.  This event is primarily run by our senior boys who present lessons and demonstrations to the rest of the school.
