PE
Child swimming

The PE Department aims to create opportunities for each boy to develop their physical skills through a series of varied and challenging activities, and in a fun and energetic atmosphere. The main aim of the department is to provide the boys with the necessary knowledge and experience to follow a healthy, active lifestyle.

In years 3 to 5, each boy receives 2 x 35 minute PE lessons per week whilst in years 6 to 8 they receive 1 x 35 minute lesson. They are involved in the planning and evaluation of their own work and they are encouraged to attain their own highest possible standard.

Social skills are also key to the development of each boy, with activities often performed in pairs or small groups. We hope that the boys develop commitment, a sense of fairness, and also enjoy themselves during their time with the department.

Facilities include a well-equipped sportshall (marked for badminton, five a side football, tennis, basketball and volleyball), an outdoor heated swimming pool and a small all-weather pitch (marked for tennis, football and hockey).
