Elstree’s History department encourages pupils to develop a life-long interest in the past, its events and the characters involved and to help pupils understand the significance of history and its place in the world today.

The department develops a real enthusiasm through varied and lively teaching styles, term time visits to places of interest both here and abroad, and project work. In particular, pupils are encouraged to investigate local history, particularly as it relates to the School and its surroundings.
