Great emphasis is placed on communication in the classroom and we endeavour to build up oral confidence and fluency in this way. This is balanced by providing a thorough grounding in the key aspects of French grammar, with the boys being taught by specialist staff.

Having the opportunity to practise French in an authentic context is essential – our two annual trips for Year 7 and 5 respectively to Normandy and Burgundy, are always hugely popular and beneficial to all concerned.
