All boys in the school have a double lesson of Design Technology on their timetable, following a scheme grounded in the National Curriculum but often exceeding its bounds. It offers pupils the opportunity to experience designing and making a range of project work, not only in traditional hard resistant materials of wood, metal, and plastic, but also softer materials such as food, textiles, card and paper.

There is a close link with ICT studies, where robotics and computer control play a role in the design of a project.
