| Elstree Pupils "Eat Smart"! |
|
"I've eaten all my vegetables today" Eat Smart was launched at Elstree School on Thursday, 26th January and was widely acclaimed by the pupils as a hit! The day started with a presentation about Healthy Eating and the “Eat Smart” campaign being launched by Palmer and Howells the Schools caterers, which is designed to promote health and well-being from an early age. The Pre-prep children from Home Farm were excited as soon as they came into the dining room and saw all the changes; of course the "Eat Smart" balloons caused the greatest stir! The pupils are very good eaters and enjoy their food, however the School staff were pleased to see lots of extra cleared plates as the stickers proclaiming "I've eaten all my vegetables today" worked their magic. The caterers ran a fresh “juice bar” during lunchtime (pictured above) which proved hugely popular with both pupils and staff, sampling the many wonderful and varied concoctions invented by the chefs to test the taste buds! The most popular was the mango, orange and carrot, the most unusual the strawberry, kiwi and beetroot! Another great success and many thanks to all the catering staff at Elstree who ensured it ran so smoothly. ![]() |
