Easter and Egg Chasing Come to Elstree
Nick Easter of Harlequins kicks off Elstree Rugby Season

The rugby season began at Elstree School this week and what better way to start than to have two England rugby players coming to coach on the first day. Nick Easter of Harlequins and Tim Payne of London Wasps arrived on Monday afternoon to run coaching sessions for the U9, U11 and Game 1 boys. The sessions involved passing, tackling and handling the ruck situation.
The coaching sessions came courtesy of an Elstree parent, James Masterton. Mr Masterton won the coaching sessions for Elstree in an auction to raise money for Parkinson’s disease. Nick Easter’s father suffers from the disease and was clearly delighted with the money the auction raised.
Both players spent some time answering questions from the boys and signing autographs. It was a fantastic way to start the season and the boys were all buzzing about it. James Billyeald, Master in charge of rugby , made a number of appearances for the Harlequins rugby club in the early 1990’s, before joining the Merchant Navy. Hopefully his Elstree 1st XV can achieve their second unbeaten season on the trot.
