| Pangbourne Orchestral Fun Day |
|
Greeted with Massive Applause At around 9 o’clock on Tuesday, 4th May, we arrived at Pangbourne College, where we were split into groups: strings, woodwind, brass, and percussion. Then we went off to various places around the school to practice our pieces. There were around 36 people in the brass group, including me, Des Hartley Russell and Orlando Lynes. I was in the first trumpets, and Des and Orlando were part of the second trumpets. We played Star Wars, the Hallelujah chorus, and a Handel Suite, practising them until they were perfect. Then we took our instruments to the Chapel and had lunch at 1 o’clock. Once we had finished lunch, we walked up to the Chapel and practised with the rest of the orchestra. When the concert began, we played Star Wars, followed by Hallelujah and the Handel Suite. All were greeted with massive applause. At the end the Director of Music and the headmaster thanked everyone for the organizing the event with more than 220 playing in the orchestra. Dom Anwyl-Jones ![]() |
