Sarah Rivett-Carnac, mother to Geordie (6SLS), has returned in one piece from the Arctic Circle. It was an amazing experience, one of endurance of both the cold and long days of activity. Sarah is still trying to thaw out, -32 not a temperature that she would choose to be dealing with again! The weather was awful, 3 days of blizzards with winds up to 60mph. As if all of that wasn’t challenge enough, on the last day, Sarah wrapped her sled round a tree and crashed on a frozen waterfall! Sledding at break neck speed and with an overwhelming sense of relief Sarah arrived safely back to base with all of her finger tips remaining and no broken limbs.
Sarah returned home feeling very elated and with a great sense of achievement. She has raised nearly £8000 for MS and Ali, her sister has achieved almost the same target. Sarah would like to thank everyone for their generous sponsorship and support. As a school, we congratulate her for her superb achievement.
