Elstree boys - 'a force to be reckoned with.' A group of Elstree boys train each week with Colin Small on Friday evenings. This year, Colin entered the boys into the IAPS Judo Competition, the big Judo Tournament of the year, with schools from all over the country taking part. The Competition is split into two different events. The older boys competed first on Saturday the 14th March. In the older boys’ competition Sam Telling fought very hard to take a well earned silver medal with Hector Blackwell following closely behind with an equally well earned bronze medal. The younger boys had their tournament on Saturday the 9th May with David Telling following in his brother’s footsteps by taking a silver medal in his weight category and Alfie Kingham taking the bronze in his weight category. The boys are going to be a force to be reckoned with. In our first year of entering the IAPS we have taken 4 National Medals, of the other boys that took part, many fought through to the last 6 in their weight groups. When you think that most of the weight groups had over 30 competitors in them, they all did extremely well! Well done to everyone who participated. ![]() |
