Henry Olonga visits 19th April
Henry Olonga, former Zimbabwe Test and ODI cricketer, does his stuff!

It was certainly true that Elstree got a huge amount out of the visit on Sunday 19th April.  Henry was invited to talk to the boys, parents and staff in Church on Sunday morning and he delivered an address that was right on target.  With his energetic manner and individual style, he had us all listening carefully with plenty to reflect on.  Henry, a committed Christian,  is now working as an full time speaker with a burgeoning singing and actingfilm making career too.

The boys of the 1st XI cricket side were also lucky enough to benefit from his bowling expertise.  Having been a good strike bowler for Zimbabwe between 1995 and 2003, he worked hard on his technique with the help of pace man Dennis Lilley to be a formidible attack bowler.  His best ODI figures were 6-19, sadly against England in 2000.  Henry has been very generous with his time, coaching each of the bowlers over the course of the morning, giving them each tips to work on.  Henry and his wife, Tara (also a top sporting coach in her own right) then stayed on for lunch.  It will be a day the boys, and Elstree, long remember.
