Hugo Chittenden Visits Elstree

Hugo Chittenden visited Elstree to talk about the volunteer work he has done in various countries around the world; it was really interesting and was very educational. He was trying to also encourage some of the volunteer work that Elstree do.

Hugo Chittenden set up an organisation called The Volunteer. The Volunteer visits countries that are in need of help around the world. He has a team of very dedicated people who all make food for the hungry and give beds to the homeless.

He talked about some work he had done in the Kibera Slums to educate the people who live there about HIV  – he has also helped to improve the living conditions of some of Kibera’s inhabitants and built a school.

He visited Haiti to build a water reservoir for all the locals to get drinking water from. This kind of work is not very hard for the volunteers to do but really makes a difference to the lives of the people who use it every day.

Overall I think it was a really interesting lecture and was very motivating. I think everyone enjoyed it and would love to go and help someone around the world who is not as lucky as us.

Well done with all the work you are doing Mr Chittenden!!
