Home Farm visited by soldiers from the Royal Army Medical Corps

There was great excitement as members of the RAMC visited Home Farm to talk about the work of the army and explain the role of the medics. They brought along an ambulance which some were lucky enough to have a ride in and lots of their equipment. The medics enjoyed a cup of tea made on the campfire in our Early Years woodland area and then everyone headed up to Plantation for some activities. Once camouflage paint had been applied, the children were ready to have a go at bandaging, have a ride on the stretcher and a look around the ambulance. Years 1 and 2 even had fake wounds and blood applied which a friend had to bandage. It was a fun way for the children to be introduced to the valuable work of the army and will also give them a greater understanding of the importance of Remembrance Day.
