Greyhound Cross-Country Fixture at the Oratory

We arrived in good time and had plenty of time to review the course.  The weather was perfect and there was no sign of the snow which had blighted the country just days before.  It should be mentioned that this was quite a gruelling course –  3.5km over undulating terrain, and some of our boys hadn’t quite done enough training – that said, they ran their hearts out in true Elstree style.

Our senior team of Year 7s did particularly well coming fourth out of a dozen or so schools with Mack  coming in 7th out of 85 runners. Not far behind him in 13th place was William . The junior team of Year 6 boys also ran well with Jack, the team captain, coming a very respectable 27th out of 85 runners.

Special mention must be made of the Oratory School’s hospitality – a super cross-country course and a lovely hot meal of sausages, chips and beans for afterwards!  Well done boys! This was our final fixture of the term and you were great fun to be with. You also gave everything to the cause and made me feel very proud of you all.
