Boarders visit Swinley Forest

With Mr Perry doing his best impression of Paul Hollywood on Sunday morning, the boys were given the challenge of baking a cake and I’m pleased to report they all rose to the occasion! The unintentional Sunday morning carb loading of full English and cake was however very useful as the boys spent the afternoon in the saddle racing around the excellent Swinley Forest mountain bike trail.

During the drive over to Bracknell some of the boys were puzzled to hear that Swinley Forest was voted by the Daily Telegraph as the number 1 mountain biking route in Britain, with the keen geographers amongst the group correctly pointing out that Berkshire isn’t really noted for its high altitude. However, the boys had a pleasant surprise as they whizzed around a 15km circuit carving through the corners and catching some impressive “air.” Content, and a little bit saddle sore, the boys wound down the weekend and prepared for the week ahead with hot chocolate and a film.”
